Dato’ Abdul Aziz bin Ishak is a seasoned expert in media, strategic communication, and public governance. Holding a degree in Strategic and Security Studies from UKM and a Journalism Fellowship from the University of New York and East-West Center, he led Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Berhad as Group Editor-in-Chief from 2008 to 2018.
Dato’ Abdul Aziz’s contribution to nation-building has earned him numerous state honours, including the Setia Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (SSA), Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW), Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), and Dato' Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) — a reflection of his unwavering service to the country.
He helmed Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Berhad as Group Editor-in-Chief from 2008 to 2018, during which he also served on the Board of Directors of the company and its subsidiaries. As a key voice in national media, his leadership influenced public discourse and institutional transparency.
